There are two organized race programs at Chicago Walkers Club currently.  CWC conducts
training for long distance races in the spring, which doubles nicely as endurance training
for its members.  CWC also runs a 5K club race each fall, named for our long-time coach
Diane Graham-Henry.

Long Distance Races
A ten-week endurance training program peaks in early May. This training takes place at the
8AM Saturday Advanced Workout.  This prepares us for long distance races that take place
in the spring

Diane Graham-Henry 5K Club Race
A USATF-certified club race is held each year in the fall.  This USATF-judged race is also
the Illinois and North Region 5K championships.  It is well-attended by people from
Chicago and the neighboring states, usually totaling nearly 30 participants.  Prizes and
awards are distributed immediately after the race.  The small size makes it unintimidating
and an excellent one to attend as your first race.
The 2011 date is Saturday Sept 24.
